IMPORTANT INFORMATION
account balance and retirement income
Superannuation scheme’s account balance generally cannot be accessed until you leave your employer or is subject to complying fund rules or vesting (depending on the category you are in), which means you cannot access the account balance until you reach retirement age. There are a few other circumstances where you can access your account balance earlier.
The estimate of your account balance provided on this website does not describe all of the conditions affecting your account and the availability of the balance. Your account balance will be determined in accordance with the relevant Trust Deed, Administrator and Trustee determinations and applicable legislation and regulations. Your account balance is an estimate; the Administrator does not guarantee you will receive this particular amount as it is subject to market movement. Therefore it should be considered in conjunction with the information contained in the Product Disclosure Statement (if applicable) and other documents sent to you.
Your account balance is based on information available to the Administrator at the time the calculation has been processed. At the time of payment, your account balance may be:
1. Subject to other deductions due but not yet posted to your member account balance.
2. Subject to the unit prices available at the time your account balance is processed by the administrator.
3. Altered if you have requested an investment switch which has not been processed, this will affect the estimate of your account balance.
While all reasonable efforts have been made to ensure the information contained in the estimate of your account balance is correct, the Administrator reserves the right to correct any error or omission. You should not enter any commitments based solely on the estimate of your account balance.
If any of your personal details are incorrect, the estimate of your account balance may be affected. If you require further information or a confirmation of the estimate of your benefit, please call us on {PhoneNumber}
Retirement Estimate
The Retirement Income estimate illustrates the effect that variable factors such as contributions, investment returns and retirement income have on the savings you may have at retirement and how long it may last you.
Uses default assumptions about future investment returns and inflation, which are based on those noted in Part 2 of Schedule 7A of the Financial Markets Conduct Amendment Regulations 2019. You can modify future investment returns assumptions.
Gives the results in today's dollar values which have been calculated by deflating the projected dollar amounts based on the rate of price inflation of 2% p.a. Please note that deflating with price inflation does not allow for future improvements in living standards.
The retirement estimate shows your current balance plus three results:
Your projected retirement balance, based on the inputs shown;
Your projected balance as a percentage of a benchmark amount required to provide 25 years of retirement income allowing for NZ Super;
The number of years of retirement income that your projected balance could provide.
The simulator cannot take into account:
- Changes in your personal circumstances;
- Actual future investment returns and inflation; or
- Future changes to the NZ Super and tax regulations.
The projections shown are intended as a guide only, based on the information you input, and should not be used in isolation to make financial decisions. This simulator does not take into account your personal objectives or your own financial situation and it cannot determine your actual final benefit or income. Before making any decisions about your super or any other financial product, you should consider seeking advice from a licensed financial adviser and read the relevant Product Disclosure Statement (PDS) (if applicable).
